When Music Speaks Louder than Algorithms

Today is a special day.
Metal Planet he published an article dedicated to my song “Symphonic Reverie”, sharing it on Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Bluesky and Threads. The song was added to their “Little Box of Wonders” on Spotify e YouTube.
I won't deny that it had a strange effect on me—in the best sense of the word.
Not because I was looking for external validation (those who know me know I've never created music to please anyone), but because it proves that when you believe in something and keep going despite everything, sooner or later someone notices. Someone understands.
“Symphonic Reverie”" was born from an expressive urge I could no longer contain: 8 minutes and 32 seconds of instrumental progressive/symphonic metal that openly challenges the tyranny of the algorithm. In an era where music has been reduced to 30-second snippets for TikTok and Reels, this song is a declaration of war and artistic integrity.
It's a fusion of prog metal and symphonic metal that draws on the legacy of Dream Theater, Symphony X, Opeth, Savatage, Rhapsody of Fire, Queensrÿche, Fates Warning, and Rush. No comparison! I wanted power, orchestration, technique, and atmosphere, intertwined in a sonic journey that demands active listening, not passive consumption.
But above all, it is the fruit of an extraordinary transcontinental collaboration with Michiko Funakoshi, Japanese drummer from Tokyo with whom I had already collaborated in the 80 Hundred Miles. 10,000 kilometers apart, months of remote work, two worlds and two cultures united by the same creative passion.
And while I was writing it, while I was producing it, there were those who rowed against it. Those who said "but who makes you do it?", "who would listen to you?", "this isn't music that works." So, to them I dedicate a loving thought: 🖕
I continued. I chose to believe in my vision, in my music, which ranges from jazz to metal depending on how I wake up (but metal has always flowed through my veins, there's no escape), in my RickyVerse made of notes, words, images, and ideas that no one had asked for but that I had to unleash.
And today, Metal Planet shares my work. A small victory? Perhaps. But for me, it's confirmation that it's always worth being true to yourself.
Thanks to those who always believed in me, to those who supported me even when it seemed crazy. Thanks to the three fans who listen to my music with open hearts.
And thanks to those who rowed against me: you gave me even more reason to prove you wrong.
