September 1st is the new December 31st (with less sparkling wine and more coffee)

September 1st is the real New Year.
We return to the office as if it were an intercontinental airport: some people land slowly, some crash on the runway.
We don't write our resolutions in December—too busy digesting Pandoro and relatives—but now: "This year I'll be organized," "This year I won't drink five coffees a day," "This year I'll reply to emails within 24 hours.".
Illusions, of course. But beautiful illusions, as fresh as a recently discarded diary.
September 1st is the true midnight of the year: no countdown, no cork popping. Just the office door opening. And a heart beating louder than any fireworks.
