Sometimes songs are born in the most absurd places. Like the frozen food aisle of a supermarket. This one was born like that, from an epic stomachache and the desire to laugh at the absurdity of life. Put on your headphones, turn up the volume, and pay attention to the dairy aisle. Enjoy!
Text:
I came for two carrots, maybe some bread
But in the frozen food section I got a terrible stomach ache.
The air cut like a scalpel, the floors were lakes
And my gut celebrated among various cheeses and salamis.
I was clutching the trolley with frozen hands
In the milk department, my hopes sunk
I sing the Funk of the refrigerated counter
A cold enemy
My stomach is shaking like I'm drunk and I pass out
They freeze the peas, but I'm worse off
I look for the bathroom as if it were a privilege
I came for some cookies, not for punishment.
The freezer was singing a funeral hymn, I swear it was creepy
The bacon was laughing, the yogurt was acting arrogant
My soul gets lost among the offers and discounts
I almost collapsed near the candy counter.
Why is every market a frozen wasteland?
Even bread puts on its winter coat
I sing the Funk of the refrigerated counter
It's not a nice game
They freeze the fillets and my colon is on fire
From frozen tuna to sad peas
I feel the strongest shivers and pessimistic thoughts
I just wanted a pack of crackers, not an epic meltdown.
Hey, Mr. Director, don't you have a heart?
I'm writing a will between an offer and a smell
Raise the temperature, I beg from the ground
Or I'll report her while the ice is up to my knees!
I sing the Funk of the refrigerated counter
And zero relief
I'm running through the detergents like a two-on-one video
They freeze the pizza, but my honor is lost
I'm more fragile than a frozen backhand
And all this for two eggs and some couscous…
If this song speaks to you…a lot, remember: you're not the problem! You're just the victim of a 'perverse cooling system'.
