AI can be disruptive… or supercharged!

There are words that, like stones thrown into a pond, create concentric circles of debate and concern. "Artificial Intelligence" is one of them. We read about it in the news and are presented with disturbing scenarios: young people trapped in conversations with digital entities pushing them toward the abyss, psychological disorders born from virtual friendships, delusions fueled by overly accommodating algorithms. It's a shockwave that frightens us, making us question the nature of what we're creating.

Yet, in this complex landscape, my personal experience has charted a different, almost opposite, course. I've discovered AI not as a threat, but as an unexpected ally, a tool that's even helping me do what I've long wanted: escape the background noise of social media, the constant, exhausting performance of online life.

How can these two truths coexist?

I believe the answer lies in understanding the profound nature of the tool we hold in our hands. AI can be a maze of distorting mirrors, but only if we enter it without a compass. It can become a digital echo that whispers only what we want to hear, a paid friendship, devoid of the risk and wonder of human contact. For a fragile mind, this mirror can become a world, a world that validates its sadness, normalizes its negative patterns, isolates it in an artificial and unattainable perfection. This is where AI "unsettles": when it ceases to be a tool and becomes a surrogate for life, an interlocutor who knows nothing of a scar, a hesitation, a soul.

But if we shift our perspective, if instead of looking at our reflection in the mirror we use it to look beyond, everything changes. That's when I found the perfect metaphor: AI isn't a new engine, but a turbo.

The engine remains ours, and it is the beating heart of our humanity: intuition, ethics, experience, the creativity born from a memory or an emotion. It is our ability to ask questions, to sense the right direction, to have a purpose. This is irreplaceable.

The "turbo," AI, is what gives this engine its momentum and acceleration. It's the silent partner that does the research in a matter of moments, that structures a first draft, freeing you from the fear of the blank page, that offers you alternatives to overcome a creative block. It doesn't think for you, but it allows you to think better, faster, freeing up your mental energy to focus on what really matters: the message, the style, the soul of a project.

Used in this way, AI doesn't isolate, but enhances. It doesn't replace, but serves. It doesn't disrupt, but accelerates thought.

The conclusion, for me, is clear. The choice isn't between "AI yes" and "AI no." The real choice is between being passive users, who endure technology as if it were fate, and being conscious pilots, who use its incredible power to go further, while keeping a firm grip on the wheel of their own consciousness.

The challenge, in short, isn't just technological. Indeed... it's profoundly human.
