The dictator Erdogan, at the end of the\u00a0NATO summit on 7-8 July 2026<\/em>, he offered a tribute<\/a> to all heads of state and government present: a revolver\u00a0G\u00fcm\u00fc\u015fay .357 Magnum<\/strong>, produced in the 1990s by the Turkish state-owned MKE, with the recipient's name inlaid on the barrel and the crescent of the Turkish flag carved on the grip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not a gadget, not some fairground nonsense:<\/em> A real, functioning, lethal weapon, housed in a three-tiered wooden box lined with black velvet, complete with six live rounds and a signed document derogating from arms export laws. A note accompanied the package, reading: \u201cWith respect to the President of the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye\u201d<\/em>. A gesture of a unprecedented symbolic violence<\/strong>, an explicit programmatic manifesto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The message is clear: the future is built on heavy rearmament, burying any remaining illusion of peaceful relations between nations. We are faced with a\u00a0future armed to the teeth<\/a><\/strong>, and Erdogan made it literal, putting it in our hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The detail that makes you vomit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The most disgusting part of this story is not just the gesture, it is the surgical choice<\/strong> of the recipients and the historical timing. We are in the midst of a unprecedented climate crisis<\/em>, with devastating human and environmental costs. And this is not the opinion of romantic environmentalists, it is pure arithmetic<\/strong>A study by ETH Zurich has calculated that limiting global warming to 1.5\u00b0C reduces global economic damage by two-thirds compared to a 3\u00b0C scenario. They have chosen to trade the air of our children for the profits of the war industry, which according to analysts remains the real purpose behind the operation: full-blown publicity for a defense sector that is now central to the exports and foreign policy of Washington and Ankara, strengthened precisely in this summit by the first\u00a0NATO Defense Industry Forum<\/em>. Not a diplomatic incident. A\u00a0marketing plan<\/strong>\u00a0with the signature of a head of state, and the most economically stupid choice possible: one that multiplies future costs to buy muscular propaganda today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And when everyone's life hangs by such a thin thread, disaster is just around the corner. Anything can happen.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
