Welcome to the RickyVerso

Spread the love

Having a brain that constantly works at the speed of light can be the greatest blessing or the greatest curse. It depends on your perspective. On the moment.

Today, in an age that celebrates conformism and creative flatness to please “the Algorithm”… well, let's just say it's much more often a curse.
My name is Ricky, born in 1974.
And they are a bundle of unstable artistic geniuses that have been lodged in my DNA for at least 800 years.
(Skipping a few generations, apparently…)
I started attending art school as a child, creating mosaics with chopped vegetables from minestrone soup. As a shy and insecure teenager, I bought a guitar thinking it would help me with girls. In reality, I became the soundtrack to the others' making out.

But the spark of the Music, the real one, had taken place.
I started composing: rock, metal, a deep love for progressive rock. But also jazz, funk, forays into pop, classical, electronic, even liturgical and cinematic music. And while I was at it, I tried to mix it all.
The result? The phrase that has accompanied me for thirty years:

“I DON'T KNOW WHAT MUSIC YOU MAKE”

It never discouraged me. Music was always a need of mine, not a way to please other people's desires.

With time came the Writing, a way to explore the intimacy of the human soul through thoughts, poems, and stories. Of course, here too: "You write too long posts," "You use complicated terms." Never mind.

Then the passion for the was born Photograph, especially theatrical: the most complex and fascinating challenge with its lights, shadows, and movements. My faithful "Nikolina" follows me everywhere.

And finally, the Drawing. Oddly enough, the latest addition, given its lineage. Born for fun, to give more life to my thoughts, I've discovered that I find it easy to create in ever-changing styles.
Strange, right?

In summary: we went from "it's not clear what kind of music you make" to...
“THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU'RE DOING!”
This space, "The Rickyverse," is my response. It's my act of resistance.
It's the place where all these souls coexist without asking permission, where harmonies can be disharmonious. It's my home, the domain is mine, and I do as I please.
I write for those who love to read, not scroll.
Sound for those who love to listen, not just hear.
I photograph to capture heavy moments, not forced smiles.
If you find yourself caught up in this creative chaos, you're in the right place. Welcome.
The only person in the world I have to answer to, I married. And she's fine with that.
